⚕Health & Safety Precautions

Massage therapy exists across a wide spectrum of environments, specialties, and client needs.
Some massage therapists are trained to work in clinical or medical contexts—including physical therapy or rehabilitation, hospital settings, or support for chronic conditions.
These practitioners often collaborate directly with healthcare providers and are trained to meet clients where they are, making the necessary accommodations, modifications, and safety adjustments to session structure, equipment, and environment.

That is not the focus of my training or the nature of my service.
My practice is a health and wellness-based offering designed to support relaxation, embodiment, self-awareness, and holistic wellbeing for clients who are generally otherwise healthy and not currently managing medical conditions that require specialized care.

If you are under medical treatment, have a chronic or acute condition, or believe you may need significant support or modifications in order to receive massage safely, please contact me before scheduling so we can determine if I’m able to accommodate your needs.
In many such cases, a medical or clinical massage specialist may be a better fit.

🚫 Conditions Not Appropriate for Massage

For everyone’s safety, please do not schedule —or cancel if already scheduled—if you or anyone in your household has a current or recent contagious condition, particularly affecting the skin, respiratory, or gastrointestinal systems.
Examples include (but are not limited to):

  • Fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, toenail or foot infections

  • Bacterial infections such as staph, cellulitis, or MRSA

    • I do not work with anyone who has ever had a history of MRSA (even if inactive), due to the possibility of lifelong carrier status.

  • Parasitic infections such as scabies, lice (head or body), or mites

  • Viral infections such as cold, flu, COVID-19, pink eye (conjunctivitis), or gastrointestinal viruses

  • Other potentially contagious ear, sinus, or respiratory infections

Because of the close physical and skin-to-skin nature of massage, the risk of transmission that might be negligible elsewhere is exceedingly higher in this context.
If you or someone in your household is recovering from any contagious illness, please wait until everyone is fully well and at zero risk of transmission before scheduling.

I do not enter environments where an active or recent illness is present.

My own health and wellbeing are essential to my ability to work safely and sustainably.

You have my assurance that I never work while ill, as it is my priority to ensure I’m not creating an environment where my clients could become sick.
As a matter of mutual respect and common courtesy, I ask for your same commitment — please do not schedule or receive massage if you are ill, or if doing so could risk my health or the health of my other clients.

When in doubt, please consult your healthcare provider and reach out to me directly prior to booking.
