⚖️ Legal Conduct & Anti-Harassment Policy
Massage therapy is a legally governed and protected professional health and wellness service, overseen by federal, state, and local workplace and safety laws. To be clear, this is NOT sex work.
Because you are hiring me to provide a professional service—and because I am a certified and licensed practitioner—this setting is legally considered a workplace environment, not a personal, mutual, or social space.
That means both of us are protected from any form of personal, sexual, or solicitous behavior.
Even if something might seem friendly or harmless in another context, during a professional massage it is considered inappropriate and unlawful.
Please understand this distinction and come prepared to engage in a professional context of therapeutic care.
Know the Law
Under local, state and federal law, massage therapists and their clients are protected by workplace safety and anti-harassment regulations.
Any sexual or suggestive comment, gesture, joke, or advance—even if presented as playful, complimentary, accidental, neutral, or a joke—constitutes sexual harassment or sexual battery in a professional setting and is a prosecutable offense.
This includes but is not limited to:
Sexualized or body-related remarks
Suggestive banter, flirting, or “jokes”
Questions or comments about anatomy or appearance
Attempts to move draping, expose, or touch genitals
Any verbal or physical action that could reasonably be interpreted as sexual in nature
Consent for therapeutic touch is never consent for sexual conduct of any kind.
All sexual actions, advances, or contact are non-consensual by default under workplace law.
Session Conduct & Professional Boundaries
During each session, both client and therapist share responsibility for maintaining a professional, lawful, and respectful environment.
Verbal Boundaries
Clients are expected to uphold appropriate verbal conduct at all times. Personally intimate or probing questions and comments are discouraged unless they directly relate to the therapeutic process.
This helps maintain clarity, neutrality, and focus within the session.
Dual relationships—including personal, romantic, or social interactions outside of the professional setting—are not permitted.
These boundaries protect the integrity of the work and ensure emotional safety for both client and practitioner.
Physical Boundaries
Massage therapy involves professional touch within clearly defined physical boundaries.
Clients must follow all draping and privacy procedures:
Please wait to undress until I have stepped out of the room, allowing you full privacy to get on the table and cover yourself under the sheet and blanket.
I will always knock and verbally confirm that you are dressed or appropriately draped before entering the room.
Clients must remain professionally draped at all times; at no point should genitals, breasts, or other private areas be exposed.
Undressing in the presence of your therapist is not permitted.
Any attempt to move draping, expose genitals, or engage in sexualized behavior—including wiggling, thrusting, or self-stimulation—is strictly prohibited.
Additional Guidelines
For professional and safety reasons, I do not perform inner-thigh or groin-area massage on men.
All male clients are required to wear briefs or boxer briefs during their session so that genitals remain securely covered and there is zero risk of accidental contact.
Touch within this context is therapeutic, not personal.
It exists for your physical and emotional restoration, within a framework of integrity and consent.
These boundaries allow us to cultivate genuine safety, relaxation, and trust—the true foundation of healing.
🚨 Zero-Tolerance Policy
Any act of sexual harassment, solicitation, or assault will result in:
Immediate termination of the session without refund
Documentation and formal reporting to law enforcement and any other relevant authorities
Permanent ban from future services
Shared Responsibility & Professional Respect
I am committed to providing a safe, lawful, and respectful environment for every client.
By booking, you agree to uphold the same standard and conduct yourself lawfully and respectfully toward me as your practitioner.
Even seemingly casual comments or jokes about sex, body parts, attraction, or personal interest are not appropriate in this setting. These boundaries protect both of us and uphold the professionalism and integrity of the work.
🌟 Why This Policy Exists
This policy is included as a matter of legal and ethical clarification, and as part of an ongoing effort to educate the public within an evolving field.
While most massage therapy experiences are safe and respectful, boundary violations and sexual harassment remain a serious and under-discussed concern across the profession — affecting both those who give and those who receive massage.
Acknowledging this reality allows us to build a culture of accountability, education, and shared safety.
It’s also important to clarify that professional massage therapy is a legitimate, government-regulated health and wellness practice — not a form of sex work.
Unfortunately, the misuse of the word “massage” by unlicensed or illicit operations has contributed to public confusion and stigma for legitimate practitioners.
Licensed massage therapists train extensively in health sciences, hands on healing techniques, anatomy, physiology, ethics, and communication, and are held to high standards of conduct and continuing education.
By setting clear expectations and boundaries, we affirm what professional therapeutic touch truly is — a lawful, skilled, and ethical practice dedicated to health, embodiment, and connection.
Transparent communication supports genuine safety, healing, and relaxation — the true heart of this work.
Thank you for empowering yourself with this awareness and for doing your part to help uphold the integrity, respect, and safety of this work.
